Position Details

  • VPSG6 range $115,136 - $154,076 p.a. + super + leave loading.
  • One (1) full time, fixed term (until 31/12/19) position available.
  • Working within the Victoria Police Executive Department, VEOHRC Program Management Team located at the Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders Street, Docklands.*

 


About the role:

The VEOHRC Review Response, Partnerships and Innovation Office (VRRPI):

  • Leads and coordinates the implementation of the recommendations of the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission (VEOHRC) independent review into sexual harassment, including sex discrimination and predatory behaviour, in Victoria Police; and
  • Leads partnerships between Victoria Police and other agencies to establish more collaborative, holistic and innovative approaches to service delivery, harm reduction and harm prevention.


Some of your duties will include:

Reporting to the Assistant Commissioner VEOHRC Review Response, Partnerships and Innovation Office, you will lead the VRRPI Programme Management Team. As part of the role, you will be required to influence change across the organisation, which will include:

  • Coordinate the delivery of the VEOHRC Response programme of work, which may include the development of complex business cases, undertaking strategic assessments and options analysis through all of the project lifecycle phases in the Victoria Police response.
  • Monitor project governance and reporting requirements, and where appropriate plan, manage and/or participate in appropriate reporting processes.
  • Establish effective stakeholder management and communications, prepare complex reports, briefings and presentations and influence stakeholders holding competing priorities and views.
  • Build collaborative partnerships, anticipate and effectively address emerging issues and advise and negotiate with senior management in order to achieve long term strategic organisational goals.
  • Support the Assistant Commissioner VRRPI in maintaining an effective working relationship / partnership with the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission Victoria Police Review Team, in their conduct and completion of the Phase Three implementation review of the Victoria Police response to the VEOHRC Phase 1 Report Recommendations.


As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated record of achievement at a senior level in successfully managing the implementation of complex large-scale projects in accordance with organisational frameworks and recognised project management methodologies.
  • Extensive senior project management experience in all elements of a project cycle including the development of detailed project plans, governance, reporting, implementation and post implementation reviews.
  • Demonstrated record of sound financial management to ensure corporate projects are delivered within agreed budget and strict timelines.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills and demonstrated capacity to initiate and manage stakeholder relationships and expectations.
  • Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills with the proven ability to interpret and present information and the ability to identify and resolve potential risks on legislative, industrial relations and policy issues associated with implementation of major projects.
  • Proven ability to monitor client and stakeholder satisfaction, and constructively manage stakeholder issues to ensure positive outcomes for the stakeholder and the Region/Department/Command.
  • A proven record of ethical behaviour and a demonstrated commitment to the Victoria Police Code of Ethics and Conduct, Financial Code of Practice, and the Organisational Values.
