Position Details

  • VPSG2 range $50,077 - $64,307 p.a. + super + leave loading.
  • Two (2) full time, ongoing positions available.
  • Working within the Logistical Support Division, Operational Infrastructure Department located at the Logistical Support Division Melbourne CBD.*

About the role:

The Warehouse & Distribution Unit primarily provides members state wide with uniform, equipment and stationery requirements. As the successful applicant you will have experience working within a warehouse environment, have great customer service skills, enjoy working within a small team and be dedicated to workplace efficiency and continuous improvement processes.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Undertake manual handling of stock and property in accordance with OH&S principals, Victoria Police policies and legislative requirements;
  • Manually selecting and packaging customer orders , arranging for distribution and disposal of items as directed;
  • Goods inwards / delivery receivable and receipting activities for stock;
  • Undertake administrative and inventory governance requirements including cycle counts, property audits, electronic receipting and data entry activities;
  • Undertaking a range of activities with receipt, storage, distribution and disposal of evidentiary property in accordance with relevant legislation and policy;
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring all work spaces are kept clear and free of workplace hazards and maintaining fire safety (chemical) compliance registers;

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience with safe manual handling practices and high level of understanding of Health and Safety principals for a warehouse environment;
  • Demonstrated experience using computers, related logistics technology or basic software programs to undertake audits, receipting and data entry activities;
  • Reasonable level of personal health and fitness to undertake manual handling and repetitious duties as associated with a Warehouse Logistics role;
  • Demonstrated understanding of stock management including rotation, accessibility and auditory considerations;

Requirements and relevant information:

  • Possession of a permit to operate a forklift is highly desirable.

*Your usual place of work will be within the Logistical Support Division, Operational Infrastructure Department, however you may be required to work at any other division within the Operational Infrastructure Department as required.
