Position Details

  • VPSG-4 range $81,354 - $92,304 p.a. + super + leave loading pro rata.
  • One (1) full time, ongoing position available.
  • Working within the Freedom of Information Division, Public Support Services Department located at the Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders Street, Docklands, 3008*


About this role:

  • As the successful applicant, you will join the team at the Freedom of Information (FOI) Unit of Victoria Police and you will be required to process FOI requests, as well as provide advice in relation to FOI legislation and processes to our stakeholders.  

Some of your duties will include:

  • Processing of requests, including complex requests, that are received by the FOI unit and provide recommendations in relation to access to documents.
  • Provide authoritative advice in relation to FOI related legislation, policy and administration.
  • Negotiating and consulting with applicants and/or their legal representatives.
    • Consulting with third parties (including members of Victoria Police) in line with the requirements of the FOI Act.
    • Overseeing a small team consisting of a VPSG3 and a VPSG2.


As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • High level interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and motivate staff.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

*Your usual place of work will be within the Freedom of Information Division, Public Support Services Department; however you may be required to work at any other division within the Department as required.
