Position Details

Security and Management Services Division is accountable for the consolidation and maturation of governance, management and business support functions that are undertaken across the Command as well as the management and execution of the security function for the organisation. Strategic IT Contracts have the primary function of commercial and contract management of a majority of IT Services Software Licencing contracts for Victoria Police 

The role is accountable for ensuring that authorised software licencing requested through the Victoria Police IT Service Request process is purchased and supplied in a timely manner, is effectively managed and supported and is installed in accordance with applicable software licence terms and conditions.

Your duties will include:

  • Providing a consultancy service to management and key stakeholders on software licencing issues and the implications of licence conditions on IT software usage throughout Victoria Police.
  • Continually participate in the monitoring of licence usage and identify and report any issues or risks to management.
  • Managing components of the annual software licence compliance auditing process to ensure Victoria Police's compliance with applicable licence conditions.
  • Purchasing software licences in response to IT Service Requests in accordance with the Victoria Police and Victorian Government Procurement Policy and Procedures.
  • Maintaining a knowledge of, and leverage, existing Victoria Police and Whole of Victorian Government Software Licence Agreements to achieve value for money outcomes.
  • Maintaining the Victoria Police software licence register.
  • Managing the authorised distribution of software media.
  • Managing commercial aspects of the SSL Certificate purchasing and generation processes.
  • Monitoring a range of software licence, maintenance and support agreements to ensure service continuity.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Have highly developed interpersonal and negotiating skills with the ability to develop professional and diplomatic relationships with external organisations and service providers.
  • A proven ability to work successfully and effectively, either independently or in a team environment.
  • Have well developed presentation skills, verbal and written communications with an analytical, conceptual approach.
