Position Details

About the role:

As the successful applicant, you will assist Victoria Police meet community and government expectations and obligations by contributing to the development of policies and other governance instruments that:

  • Reflect and implement the strategic direction of the organisation
  • Operationalise legislation in relation to police powers duties and functions
  • Enable employees to perform their roles efficiently and effectively


You will be part of a team comprised of both VPS and Police members, and will report to the Manager, Corporate Policy and Forms.


Your duties will include:

  • Assisting with the development and implementation of the frameworks and processes that support policy functions in Victoria Police.
  • Developing and drafting policy and procedure documents on complex issues, particularly those that support the implementation of major organisational projects/programs or legislation. 
  • Providing advice to senior managers and policy/project officers on policy development issues in their portfolio.
  • Preparing briefings for senior management in relation to complex policy issues as required.


As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly developed stakeholder consultation and management skills
  • Proven experience developing policy documents on complex issues.
