Position Details
The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools. We provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian students birth to 18 years.
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Assessment and Reporting Division in the Assessment Operations Unit for a fixed term full-time position until 6 June 2025.
- Salary: $130,593 - $180,115 (Plus Superannuation 11.5%)
- Fixed term role in a passionate team
- Usual work location: Assessment Centre Coburg (flexible work conditions maybe available)
About the Division and Unit
The Assessment and Reporting Division is responsible for the delivery and reporting of all VCE external assessments, the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN).
The division also manages:
• the development, delivery and marking of the General Achievement Test (GAT)
• the training of all casual staff appointed to participate in all Foundation to Year 12 assessment programs
• the marking of all VCE examinations, including written, performance and Languages oral examinations
• managing the quality assurance and statistical moderation programs for VCE school-based assessments
• digital assessment platforms, including the digital Assessment Library and VCAA online scoring system (VOSS)
• collecting, maintaining and processing student enrolment data and assessment results for VCE external assessments
• issuing VCE and VET certification to students under delegation from the VRQA
• managing the Victorian Student Register and the issuing of Victorian Student Numbers
• providing technical and professional support for assessment and reporting matters to the VCAA Board, internal and external stakeholders
• liaising with national and international bodies on assessment and reporting matters
• management of the VCAA Assessment Centre which provides facilities to support Division operations including training meetings and marking.
About the Role
Working with the Manager, Assessment Operations, the Program Manager is responsible for developing and coordinating administrative and quality control/assurance processes associated with VCE external assessment in particular the conduct and administration, marking and processing of VCE external assessments and Special Provision.
The main components of the role include but are not limited to:
- managing the development, implementation and review of logistical and administrative processes associated with the conduct and administration of VCE external assessments including Special Provision
- managing systems and monitoring processes, timelines and budget associated with the delivery of VCE external assessments including:
- the marking and data processing of VCE external assessments; and
- the VCAA Special Provision policy and associated procedures and resources
