About the role:

The Professional Standards Command is charged with the responsibility of enhancing and promoting a culture of high ethical standards throughout Victoria Police. This is achieved through the effective prevention, deterrence and investigation of corrupt behaviour, criminality and misconduct ensuring the continued respect and confidence of the community.

Professional Standards Command consists of the following areas:

  • Investigations Division
  • Support Services Division
  • Conduct and Professional Standards Division
  • Intelligence, Innovation & Risk Division
  • Task Force Salus

The Senior Business Advisor role is a full time position and reports to the Superintendent, Support Services Division and is primarily focused in the areas of budget management, planning, analysis and reporting along with  human resource management.

Your duties will include:

The Senior Business Advisor role has responsibility for:

  • Developing, monitoring and reporting on the budget expenditure and forecasting.
  • Development of strategy to ensure responsible finance control.
  • Providing sound advice and solutions on a range of human resource management issues.
  • Establishing and maintaining partnerships with internal and external stakeholders i.e. Corporate Finance, Workplace Relations etc.
  • Provision of authoritative advice to the Executive Leadership Team relating to the above areas including both verbal advice and high level briefings and written reports.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated high level experience in the management of budget, human resource and asset procurement.
  • Proven expertise in business planning and analysis.
  • Proven expertise in the development and delivery of a broad range of corporate business and associated strategic services functions.
  • Sound judgement in making or influencing quality decisions and developing innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of comprehensive briefings, plans, proposals and reports for senior management.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • The position is located at the Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders Street, Docklands.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.  To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
