The Executive Services and Governance Department provides executive support to the Chief Commissioner and Executive Command senior leadership group through the management of organisational committees, ensuring they operate together effectively and efficiently in support of decision making.

The Department also undertakes other governance-related projects for the organisation.

Position Details

Your duties will include:

As the successful applicant, you will play a key role in providing professional secretariat services to the Victoria Police Executive Command and other governance committees including specifically the Victoria Police Audit and Risk Committee. This will include duties such as;

  • Preparing meeting agendas, papers and minutes and forward planning future agendas and meetings.
  • Planning and liaison with Victoria Police Commands and Departments in relation to Governance Committee meetings.
  • Developing and improving systems and processes that support the Department and organisation governance.
  • Specific responsibility for the management of the Victoria Police Audit and Risk Committee including relationship. management with independent committee members and key committee stakeholders.
  • Project management of initiatives that improve executive services and governance.

 As the successful Applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated project and advanced administration skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and be highly organised and efficient.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage competing demands.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills including a focus on customer service / satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated experience in and understanding of governance.
  • A proactive approach to your work and a continuous improvement mentality.
  • Initiative to forward plan.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) full time, ongoing position available.
  • The incumbent will be required to complete the OHS requirements of the organisation, which may include local level training relating to equipment usage and Hazardous Chemicals.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.  To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • Your usual place of work will be within the Executive Services and Governance, Corporate & Regulatory Services; however you may be required to work at any other division within the Department/Command as required.
