  • VPSG-2 range $49,216 - $63,201 p.a. + super + leave loading
  • One (1) full time, fixed term (until 30/06/2021) position available
  • Working within the Business Services Division, People Development Command located at the Victoria Police Academy, Glen Waverley, 3150*

About the role

The Administration Officer within the Business Services Division is responsible for delivering a high level of customer service and administrative support to a range of stakeholders including Victoria Police members, Protective Services Officers, Police Custody Officers and Victorian Public Service employees.

As the successful applicant, your role will be within the Student Services office, performing a variety of administrative duties and providing exceptional customer service.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Provide administrative support for the office including keyboard and office management duties
  • Prepare and distribute reports and correspondence on behalf of the office
  • Develop and maintain computerised records and systems including a correspondence register to record the movement of files within the office
  • Liaise with, and provide information to, members of the Department, Victoria Police and external contacts on behalf of the office


As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in performing a range of administrative support duties, including the preparation of reports and correspondence, minute taking and basic research activities
  • Appropriate word processing and computer skills, including the ability to develop and maintain appropriate work recording and monitoring systems
  • Good organisational and problem solving skills and the ability to undertake and complete a number of activities within acceptable timeframes
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to deal competently with senior police members, external agencies and other personnel
  • Demonstrated ability to function within a team environment and deal appropriately with sensitive and highly confidential information and issues
  • An understanding of the customer service requirements of the position and a demonstrated record of strong commitment and achievement in meeting customer needs
  • A proven record of ethical behaviour and a demonstrated commitment to the Victoria Police Code of Ethics and Conduct, Financial Code of Practice, and the Organisational Values


Requirements and relevant information

  • The incumbent will be required to complete the OHS requirements of the organisation, which may include local level training relating to equipment usage and Hazardous Chemicals

*Your usual place of work will be within the Business Services Division, People Development Command, however you may be required to work at any other division within the People Development Command as required.
