Position Details

About the role:

This position sits within the Road Policing Operations and Investigations Division (RPOID), which comprises three primary operational units: the Major Collision Investigation Unit, State Highway Patrol (South-East), and the Heavy Vehicle Unit.

The role provides comprehensive administrative and property services support to these units. The successful applicant will report to the Team Leader, Administration / Property Services, and work closely with the Senior Sergeant and unit management teams to support operational priorities.

Your duties will include:

  • Provide property management and logistical support to operational Police members across the various units.
  • Undertake a range of computer‑based administrative tasks, including data entry, typing, and word processing.
  • Respond to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, providing initial information and guidance as required.
  • Receive, record, and distribute mail and correspondence.
  • Deliver general office support, including coordination of office equipment.
  • Prepare, maintain, and manage confidential records and registers in both manual and electronic formats.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and direct enquiries appropriately.
  • Monitor and action group email inboxes.
  • Provide secretariat support for meetings, including preparation of agendas, minutes, and correspondence.
  • Undertake additional duties as and when required to support business needs.

About You:

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience: 

  • Proven experience using computer systems to undertake administrative functions, including records management, data entry, and word processing.
  • The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team to meet deadlines and operational requirements.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with management, staff, and a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate and systematic administrative records.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
  • A high level of integrity, particularly in relation to the handling of sensitive and confidential information.

Further Information:

  • One (1) x Part Time (21 hours per week), ongoing position available.
  • This position is located at the Notting Hill Police Complex, Blackburn Road, Notting Hill
  • The successful applicant will be required to possess a current Victorian Driver Licence and hold or qualify for an appropriate Victoria Police driving authority within three (3) months.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
