Position Details

The Customer Service team are tasked with the responsibility of providing staff, recruits and visitors to the Victoria Police Academy with a safe and secure environment. CSO's perform a number of security related tasks including initial incident response and coordination, alarm and CCTV monitoring, alarm responses, fire warden duties, identification and vehicle verification checks, internal building patrols and patrols of the Academy grounds. CSO's also perform a number of adminsitrative tasks in support of the Academy Service Unit.

Your duties will include:

  • Ensure processes and procedures relevant to equipment issue, management of PDC vehicle fleet, graduations and other events are compliant with PDC policies and procedures and provide recommendations for remedial action when required.
  • Oversee and supervise the members and activities of the Customer Service team and be accountable for providing motivation, performance feedback and coordination of training activities for team members, as appropriate.
  • Various security related functions including mobile and foot patrols, monitoring CCTV, intruder alarms and fire panels
  • Assisting with any security / emergency incidents occurring within the Academy complex.
  • Responding to telephone and counter enquiries from internal and external clients.
  • Undertaking a range of administration functions ensuring maintaining accurate records, including computerised activities and data processing.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team through activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor security and fire alarm systems and operate a switchboard.
  • Good oral and written communication and administrative skills.
  • Proven office administration skills with experience in basic office software packages.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • One (1) full time, ongoing position available.
  • VPSG3 salary range $67,866 - $82,404 p.a + super + leave loading.
  • The incumbent may be required to work Rostered Hours, Shift work and some Public Holidays and Weekends. Shift allowances will be paid in accordance with the relevant Victorian Public Service Agreement.
  • Position located at the Victoria Police Academy.
