Position Details

  • VPSG5 range $93,867 - $113,572 p.a. + super + leave loading
  • One (1) Full time ongoing  position available
  • Working within the Covert Services Division, Intelligence and Covert Support Command.*

 

About the role:

As the successful applicant, you will manage a unit with 10 staff broken into three teams that provide a support service to Victoria Police in the intelligence field.  The three teams have different roles that overlap in certain areas.  You will be responsible for ensuring the three teams act as one effective and cohesive unit.  You will be required to engage with managers of other work areas to understand their needs and factor that into the unit's service delivery.

 

Some of your duties will include:

  • Reporting to a Superintendent in regards to unit outcomes and service delivery
  • Be responsible for conducting audits of database records
  • Coordinate unit activities around service demand and needs
  • Day to day management of staff
  • Ensuring up to date knowledge of appropriate legislation and Victoria Police policies
  • Becoming a subject matter expert in relation to the teams activities
  • May be required to assist in the provision of training

 

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Australian citizenship (required for security clearance)
  • A high level of interpersonal skill
  • Experience managing successful teams
  • The ability to motivate staff
  • Working in a law enforcement organisation is desirable
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications are desirable
  • A training qualification is desirable

 

Requirements and relevant information

*Your usual place of work will be within the Covert Services Division, Intelligence and Covert Support Command, however you may be required to work at any other division within the Intelligence and Covert Support Command as required.

For positions within Intelligence and Covert Support Command and Counter Terrorism Command the successful candidate must be prepared to undergo and successfully obtain and maintain a National Security Clearance to the level determined by the Department Head. To obtain this clearance applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
