Position Details

  • VPSG2 range $50,077 - $64,307 p.a. + super + leave loading.
  • One (1) full time, fixed term (until 29/01/19) position available.
  • Working within the Business Services Division, People Development Command located at the Victoria Police Academy, View Mount Road, Glen Waverley.*

About the role:

Customer Service Officers (CSOs) are tasked with the responsibility of providing staff, recruits and visitors to the Victoria Police Academy with a safe and secure environment.  CSOs perform a number of security related tasks including initial incident response and coordination, alarm and CCTV monitoring, alarm responses, fire warden duties, identification and vehicle verification checks, internal building patrols and patrols of the Academy grounds. CSOs also perform a number of administrative tasks in support of the Academy Service Unit.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Various security related functions including mobile and foot patrols, monitoring CCTV, intruder alarms and fire panels
  • Assisting with any security / emergency incidents occurring within the Academy complex
  • Assisting in the management of the PDC vehicle fleet
  • Issuing equipment and maintaining accurate equipment records
  • Responding to telephone and counter enquiries from internal and external clients
  • Assisting with the organisation of events, appointments and meetings held at the Academy
  • Undertaking a range of administration functions including computerised activities and data processing

Liaising with sworn and unsworn Victoria Police members, private security providers and members of the wider community

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated ability to monitor security and fire alarm systems and operate a switchboard
  • Good oral and written communication and administrative skills
  • Proven office administration skills with experience in basic office software packages
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment with minimal supervision

Requirements and relevant information:

  • This position requires shift work. You will be regularly required to work outside of normal business hours including public holidays. The shifts include night shifts and weekend shifts. Shift work allowances and overtime will be paid in accordance with the provisions set out in in the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2016.

*Your usual place of work will be within the Business Services Division, People Development Command, however you may be required to work at any other division within the People Development Command as required.
