Position Details

  • VPSG-4 range $81,354 - $92,304 p.a. + super + leave loading
  • One (1) Full time, ongoing position available
  • Working within the Business Management Division, State Emergencies and Support Command located at the 637 Flinders Street, Docklands*.

About the role:

The State Emergencies and Support Command drives the Victoria Police's strategic agenda and operational response for emergency management, operational communications, custodial management, real-time monitoring and events management. The Business Management Division's strategic focus is to:

  • Strengthen business governance practices and business planning and reporting
  • Develop and implement sound finance and budget strategies
  • Implement strategic Human Resources (HR), workforce planning, communications and professional development initiatives
  • Build the Command's business capability

Reporting to the Business Manager, this role will play a key role in implementing strategic HR initiatives such as workforce governance and providing advice and recommendations within the HR domain. You will also be the go-to person in terms of procurement and contracts and will undertake project management activities across the Command. You are expected to contribute to capacity building and process improvement knowledge bases through feeding back best practices and redefining tools and techniques as appropriate.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Completing monthly workforce profile reports and organisational charts for the Command
  • Salary forecast modelling and analysis
  • Monitoring procurement and contract management activities for the Command
  • Maintenance of HR related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Project management activities including development of project documentation in relation to governance, scope, risks, issues and stakeholder management across the Command
  • General recruitment tasks for the Command
  • Managing and updating the Portable and Attractive Items Register (PAIR) register for the Command
  • Maintenance of staff movement register
  • Updating the Business Management Division's intranet page with current and relevant information

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Analytical and conceptual skills
  • Background in project management methodology as well continuous improvement initiatives
  • Stakeholder management skills

Requirements and relevant information:

  •  Relevant tertiary qualification will be highly desirable.

*Your usual place of work will be within the Business Management Division, State Emergencies and Support Command; however you may be required to work at any other division within the Command as required.
