Position Details

  • VPSG4 range $81,354 - $92,304 p.a. + super + leave loading pro rata
  • One (1) full time, fixed term  (up until 29/03/2019) position available
  • Working within the Offender Management Division, Intelligence and Covert Support Command located at the Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders St, Docklands, with a secondary work location at 131 Exhibition St, Melbourne.*

About the role:

As the successful applicant, some of your duties will include:

  • Planning, researching and developing operational and strategic assessments and contributing to effective control strategies resulting from assessments.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of developments and initiatives relevant to intelligence information processes and providing input into the maintenance and improvement of systems, regulations and legislations.
  • Providing leadership, guidance and assistance to less experienced analysts, actively seeking to improve the skills and talents of others by providing constructive feedback, coaching and training.
  • Liaising with and develop good working relationships with potential sources of information from inside and outside Victoria Police in order to obtain assistance in the provision of timely and accurate intelligence.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience and an aptitude for intelligence and analyst activities including forecasting, monitoring and trend assessment utilising a range of information and technology within a sensitive and confidential environment.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication, negotiation and influencing skills including the ability to plan and organise work and produce high quality reports and results.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • Successfully complete the modules of a Victoria Police approved Intelligence Program relevant to the role as determined by the Command and qualify within 18 months from enrolment.
  • Tertiary qualifications in the related field of criminology, criminal justice or criminal intelligence are highly desirable.
  • Successful completion of a Strategic Analysis Course is highly desirable.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.

*Your usual place of work will be within the Offender Management Division, Intelligence and Covert Support Command; however you may be required to work at any other division within the Command as required.
