Position Details

Your duties will include:

  • Planning, researching and developing intelligence assessments.
  • Providing leadership, guidance and assistance to less experienced analysts.
  • Developing strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ongoing awareness and improvement of systems, processes, regulations and legislations.
  • Provide high quality, informative recommendations and risk assessments in respect to the analysis of intelligence and statistical data, identification and evaluation of emerging patterns and trends in crime and organised criminal activity.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience in the field of intelligence analysis or similar.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service focus and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills and a demonstrated ability to provide clear and concise reports on complex statistical issues.
  • The capability to think creatively to identify opportunities and implement problem solving solutions from a unique perspective.
  • An ability to provide guidance, support, training and assistance, and work successfully and effectively in a team environment.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) full time, ongoing position available,
  • Initial duty will be at the Prisons Intelligence Unit with the potential of performing duties at the Intelligence Collection and Liaison Unit at the discretion of the Divisional Commander.
  • Successfully complete the modules of a Victoria Police approved Intelligence Program relevant to the role as determined by the Region / Department / Command and qualify within 18 months from enrolment.
  • Tertiary qualifications in the related field of criminology, criminal justice or criminal intelligence are highly desirable.
  • Successful completion of a Strategic Analysis Course is highly desirable.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
