Position Details

  • VPSG3 range $64,583 - $78,418p.a. + super + leave loading
  • One (1) full time ongoing position available
  • Working within Business Services of the Legal Services Department located at the Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders Street, Docklands*

 

About the role:

This exciting new position will provide high level senior administrative support to the Senior Business Manager for the rapidly expanding Legal Services Department (LSD).  The role will primarily involve duties in relation to supporting the LSD Business Services function for approximately 500 Sworn and VPS staff across a number of Divisions.  It is a dynamic, challenging and rewarding work environment with the opportunity to develop and enhance your skills.

 

Some of your duties will include:

  • Sworn and VPS position establishment including preparation and submission of relevant forms;
  • manage enquiries and seek advice from various Regions/Departments/ Commands including units within the Human Resources Department and Corporate Finance Department;
  • liaising with internal and external stakeholders;
  • finance and budget administration;
  • administrative duties relating to Departmental projects including accommodation and IT services,
  • analysing data and updating / collating reports and agendas;
  • managing the dedicated LSD Business Services PBEA;
  • general administration;
  • other related duties as directed by the Senior Business Manager.

 

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • superior time management skills and the ability to multi‑task rapidly changing priorities;
  • a positive ‘can-do' attitude and demonstrated ability to use initiative to identify and implement systems and processes requiring improvement;
  • flexibility to meet time‑critical deadlines;
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to communicate and liaise with Sworn and VPS staff in a professional manner;
  • demonstrated ability to appropriately deal with sensitive and highly confidential information with tact, discretion and judgement.

 

Requirements and relevant information:

*Your usual place of work will be within the Legal Operations, Commissions & Inquiries Division, Legal Services Department, however you may be required to work at any other division within the Legal Services Department as required.
