Position Details

About the role:

The Reviews Division assists operational policing by identifying and applying "good practice" in operational strategies and management processes by utilising LEAN thinking strategies and processes to improve the efficiency of police service delivery.

This is achieved by:

  • Undertaking independent reviews of the efficiency and effectiveness of processes or functions.
  • Assisting departments and commands to apply best practice in operational strategies and management practices to address service delivery.
  • Supporting local management to adopt best practice by linking them with a range of technical and operational expertise within the organisation.
  • Providing Executive Command with the capacity to draw on a team to thoroughly investigate issues to provide and, if appropriate, co-ordinate the implementation of workable options and recommendations.
  • Embedding continuous improvement by utilising LEAN thinking principles.

Your duties will include:

  • Using appropriate project management planning and monitoring tools to track project progress.
  • Maintaining project documentation including actions, decision, risks and issues registers.
  • Designing, documenting, delivering and reviewing all non-technical project elements and documents including:
    • Stakeholder Engagement and Analysis
    • Internal and External Communications
  • Assisting with the management and delivery of effective organisational change management activities.
  • Preparing high quality reports, analysis papers, project proposals, and briefing notes as required.
  • Supporting governance forums and project working groups.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated project management experience and capability, including the ability to achieve objectives within tight timeframes, and actively engage stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, negotiate the resolution of issues, and secure cooperation to deliver collaborative projects.
  • Ability to work autonomously on your own initiative and be self-motivated and driven.
  • Possess excellent conceptual, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively and flexibly operate in a dynamic and fast paced project environment.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • A relevant tertiary education or qualification in Project Management and/or Training and Assessment would be highly desirable.
  • Proficient in Project Related Microsoft programs such as MS Project and MS Visio would be highly desirable
