Position Details

  • VPSG3 range $64,583 - $78,418 p.a. + super + leave loading, pro-rata
  • Ongoing, part time (0.6 FTE) position
  • Working within the State Intelligence Division, Intelligence and Covert Support Command located at the Victoria Police complex, 313 Spencer St, Docklands*


About the role:

As the successful applicant, you will be required to work closely with investigative teams and key stakeholders around the collection, evaluation, collation, analysis and dissemination of information in respect of investigations and set tasks.

Some of your duties will include:

  •     Interrogation of a range of systems to collect and analyse information;
  •     Deliver intelligence and information relating to significant criminal targets and identified trends;
  •     Build and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate information gathering and exchange;
  •     Prepare high quality intelligence products to inform stakeholders of identified crime trends or community risks and influence decision making processes;
  •     Maintain and develop a strong knowledge base for gathering information to drive the intelligence process.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  •     Sound conceptual and analytical skills;
  •     Ability to develop skills to effectively interrogate systems used for information gathering;
  •     Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  •     Ability to be innovative in the collection and analysis of information to effectively identify opportunities to assist in problem solving.

Requirements and relevant information:

  •     Attain a Security Clearance to the level of Negative Vetting Level 1. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  •     Successful applicant must successfully complete the modules of a Victoria Police approved Intelligence Program relevant to the role as determined by the Command and qualify within eighteen months from enrolment.
  •     May be required to work shifts, including weekends, in support of the intelligence capability and associated activities, and be available for occasional travel and overnight absences.

*Your usual place of work will be within the State Intelligence Division, Intelligence & Covert Support Command however you may be required to work at any other division within the Department/Command as required.
