Position Details

  • Working within the Human Resource Department located at the Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders Street, Docklands*


About the role:

This position is located within the Office of the Executive Director, Human Resources Department (HRD) and reports to the Manager, Business Strategy and Performance.  The Business Strategy and Performance Portfolio is responsible for HRD's governance functions, development of business plans, management of Freedom of Information requests, risk reporting and compliance.  The portfolio manages the recruitment of public servants into Victoria Police and also has responsibility for managing the Honours and Awards function. High level support is provided to the Executive Director, Human Resources on a range of HR and organisational issues and projects.

As a HR professional and key team member, you will manage HRD governance functions as well as delivering on a broad range of significant projects and initiatives in support of the department and the organisation. 

You will also lead a small team that assist in delivery of the governance and project program of works, in addition to playing a significant role in the day to day operations of the Office of the Executive Director, HRD.

As the successful applicant, you will have proven experience in:

  • All aspects of project management, including project analysis, research, developing and coordinating strategic projects
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with a proven ability to monitor client and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Preparation of high quality and comprehensive briefs, written reports and correspondence identifying opportunities and risks with a planned course of action
  • Providing specialist advice and solutions on governance and strategic issues related to proposal, project/program and portfolio management
  • Providing leadership and support to contribute to the delivery of Branch, Division and Department objectives.

A relevant tertiary qualification would be highly regarded.

*Your usual place of work will be within the Office of the Executive Director, HRD, however you may be required to work at any other division within the Department as required.
