Position Details

  • VPSG4 range $82,574 - $93,689.00 p.a. + super + leave loading
  • Full time, ongoing
  • Working at the Criminal Proceeds Squad within the Finance and Cybercrime Division, Crime Command, located at the City West Police Complex, 313 Spencer Street, Docklands.

 

About the role:

As the successful applicant, you will assist the Criminal Proceeds Squad (CPS) in its remit to disrupt and dismantle organised crime by restraining assets, money and wealth accrued or associated with criminal activity. Your role is to supervise and contribute to a team of analysts undertaking proactive target development, environmental scanning and value-adding to existing investigations.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Providing comprehensive and rigorously analysed written and verbal intelligence through the following activities:

-          Proactive development of potential targets for investigation by CPS

-          Monitoring the organised crime environment for opportunities for CPS involvement

-          Supporting existing CPS investigations via specialised collection and analysis

-          Assessing incoming information and intelligence for any value to CPS

  • Using computer systems and applications to collect, collate, analyse, produce and disseminate intelligence
  • Liaising and developing excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Supporting other Crime Command and Victoria Police investigations and operations when required
  • Providing supervision, guidance and assistance to a team of analysts within CPS

Skills and experience:

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills including the ability to liaise with a diverse range of internal and external personnel and stakeholders
  • The ability to supervise a team perusing common analytical goals
  • Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills and the proven use of initiative in solving problems
  • A high degree of comfort assessing incomplete and ambiguous information
  • Proven ability to plan and organise work and produce high quality results
  • The ability to be flexible and adaptable with regard to your daily work

Requirements and relevant information: 

  • The successful candidate must have completed or must undertake within 12 months of commencing the role, the first modules of the Victoria Police Intelligence Training Program.
  • The successful candidate must be prepared to undergo, and successfully obtain and maintain a national security clearance to the level determined by the unit manager. Applicants must be an Australian Citizen to obtain this clearance.
  • Your usual place of work will be within the Criminal Proceeds Squad, Finance and Cyber Crime Division, Crime Command; however you may be required to work at any other division within the Command as required.
