Position Details

About the role:
As the successful applicant, you will be part of a team that is responsible for providing administrative support to the members at Transit Safety Division.  This would involve the upkeep of records and registers that are essential to tracking and monitoring the work flow also perform a range of support services, including the preparedness and ability to handle property, police issue equipment including firearms, divisional fleet vehicle management and/or property.

Your duties will include:

  • Undertake a range of administrative functions to support the Transit Safety Division including the maintenance and management of various records, registers and systems.
  • Perform Logistical support – dealing with police issue equipment including firearms and divisional fleet vehicle management.
  • Perform a range of support services, including recording and storing lost and seized property.
  • Provide ongoing customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Undertake courier and other distribution/transportation functions as required - which includes taking vehicles for servicing and transporting police equipment to storage.
  • Perform data entry with a high level attention to detail.
  • Conducting audits on systems and processes with view to improve business.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated administration and reporting experience and capability, including the ability to achieve objectives within tight timeframes.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills with the ability to deal effectively with both internal and external key stakeholders.
  • Experience in using IT applications and data-bases.
  • Ability to maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, negotiate the resolution of administrative issues, and contribute and cooperate to achieve positive workplace outcomes.
  • Proven ability in the prioritisation of work with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment and achievement in meeting a high level of customer service to all clients.
  • Ability to work by direction as well as autonomously on your own initiative be self-motivated and driven.
  • Ability to multi-task.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • Possess a current Victorian Drivers Licence
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.  To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
