Intelligence Support Officer

As an Intelligence Support Officer, you will report via line management to the Investigation & Response Local Area Commander at Transit Safety Division and be responsible for the administrative support and management of criminal investigation files within Transit.

You will perform basic analytical research, prepare reports and provide training and support to staff in investigation filing and database management.

Position Details

Your duties will include:

  • Administration support across record maintenance, filing, archival storage and retrieval.
  • Computer based tasks, data entry, and spreadsheet maintenance and database activities.
  • Research and basic analysis of information to identify issues / trends.
  • Preparation of reports.
  • Provide assistance and training to staff on files and database management.

 As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in performing a range of administrative support duties.
  • Good written and oral communications skills.
  • Knowledge of basic intelligence analysis.
  • Professional customer service skills for liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A proven record of ethical behaviour and demonstrated commitment to organisational code of conduct and values.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • The position is located at Transit Safety Division – Divisional Response Unit within the Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders Street, Docklands, Melbourne
  • The successful applicant may be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.  To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
