Position Details

Are you ready to contribute towards the modernisation of the ICT organisation in support of the delivery of ICT services to the Victoria Police?

The Information, Systems and Security Command is primarily responsible for the delivery of ICT services, including the modernisation of ICT systems and services together with the maintenance and support of the organisation's applications and infrastructure.

The Security and Management Services division supports the Command in the delivery of ICT services to the frontline by through the provision of governance, assurance and compliance and management services.

The ICT Portfolio Specialist, Workforce Capability and Capacity Planning is a key position in the modernisation of the Command as it will significantly contribute towards the modernisation of our workforce in order to better ensure the delivery of high quality ICT and protective security services.

The ICT Portfolio Specialist will develop and implement a workforce capabilities and capacity model and process by:

  • Defining ICT capabilities;
  • Defining a plan to support the uplift; sourcing and engagement of ISSC capabilities;
  • Aligning capabilities to key services;
  • Aligning capabilities to key priorities and pipeline;
  • Working in collaboration with all areas of the Command; key stakeholders across the organisation; and key vendors partners and service providers in the development of the strategy and the capability uplift plan;
  • Leveraging industry frameworks and standards to develop workforce strategy and capability uplift plan;
  • Developing an organisational design in support of the operating model;
  • Leading the implementation of organisational design.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • A working understanding of information and communication technology in a complex environment.
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as information technology, commerce, human resources or organisational change management is highly desirable.
  • A working knowledge of industry based frameworks such as SFIA is highly desirable.

  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The position is located at the Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders Street, Docklands.
  • Please note that the VPSG6 salary range will increase to $118,908 - $159,124 p.a. from 1 January 2019.
