EXECUTIVE ADVISOR – STRATEGIC PLANNING AND ANALYSIS

Headquarters North-West Metro Region (12 Month Fixed-Term to 30 June, 2019)

VPSG6 $115,136 - $154,076 p.a. + super+ leave loading

An excellent opportunity has become available for an individual experienced in undertaking strategic planning, analysis and the provision of well-researched advice in an exciting and dynamic frontline policing environment. With over 3,000 operational police and 200 VPS members, this Region is at the forefront of the delivery of policing services to a large, diverse and challenging segment of the Victorian community. Working with the Region's Executive and Leadership Groups, the successful applicant will have a voice in decision making at the most senior management levels within the Region. Suited to a suitably experienced VPSG6 or aspiring VPSG5 ready for the next challenge, the position involves interacting closely with the Regional Assistant Commissioner on issues and initiatives important to community members residing in the 15 Police Service Areas that make up the Region, and that ultimately can determine the success of performance outcomes for Victoria Police in its entirety.

About the role:

Some of your duties will include:

  • Provide timely high level specialist advice directly to the Region/Department/Command Head on issues pertaining
  • Develop responsive briefing reports, prepare high quality presentations at short notice and undertake projects as required in respect to highly complex, sensitive and confidential issues, including making recommendations and determining solutions that provide options for decision making for the Region/Department/Command Head.
  • Foster and maintain constructive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review and evaluate legislative and policy proposals, and undertake discussions with other Government Departments for the purpose of articulating the Region/Department/Command's view on legislative change, policy and social issues.

* Your usual place of work will be Headquarters North West Metro Region, Victoria Police Centre, however you may be required to work at any other location within North West Metro Region as required.
