Position Details

  • VPSG3 range $64,583 - $78,418 p.a. + super + leave loading.
  • One (1) full time, ongoing position available.
  • Working within the Corporate Communications Division, Media and Corporate Communications Department located at the Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders Street, Docklands.*

About the Role:

As the successful applicant you will work with a team responsible for creating and curating content across multiple social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat and YouTube.

The successful person will have relevant digital media skills, be able to operate in a highly reactive team environment and possess well-developed oral and written communication skills.

Furthermore the person will have a strong commitment to meeting customer needs, understand the requirements of our social media audience (the community) along with strong analytical and organisational skills.

 

Some of your duties will include:

  • Moderating and responding to on social media platforms.
  • Provide advice and support to clients and employees on online communication initiatives that support Victoria Police's strategic direction around social media.
  • Identify online and digital media communications opportunities and stay current with emerging digital media trends (eg. social media,) issues and opportunities, and effectively navigate the changing online media landscape.
  • Create content for Victoria Police social media sites and manage materials to support local administrators.
  • In conjunction with other areas within Media and Corporate Communications, contribute to coordinated, timely communication responses to a range of issues.
  • Oversee the Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform in liaison with Crime Command and Counter Terrorism divisions

 

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Understanding and experience in using online social media and how these can be used by organisations in communication.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills and the ability to liaise with people at all levels.
  • Be familiar with third party dedicated social media monitoring tools and graphics packages including In Design, Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual/organisational skills and sound knowledge and understanding of working in a media and communications environment
  • The ability to write creatively for various social media platforms

 

Requirements and relevant information:

*Your usual place of work will be within the Corporate Communications Division, Media and Corporate Communications Department; however you may be required to work at any other division within the Department / Command as required.  Shift work is required.
