Position Details

Transport Services Division (TSD) manages the Victoria Police vehicle fleet. This includes purchasing all police vehicles, coordination of their maintenance, and the provision and fit out of equipment. TSD also provides Victoria Police with specialist transport services including prisoner vans, mobile portable police stations, and mobile catering for police officers who are involved in, for example, a search and rescue in a remote location.

The Business Capability Improvement Unit (BCIU) within the Transport Division is responsible for;

  • Managing the IT requirements for the Division.
  • Integration of vehicle technologies.
  • Business Analysis / Process Reforms.
  • Finance functions.
  • General Administration.

This position will be responsible for the day to day functionality of vehicle software technologies.  The initial project will incorporate the implementation of a telematics solution into the fleet. 

Key activities include:

  • Day to day support to implement telematics solution.
  • Keep up to date with environmental factors and relevant legislation, policies and protocols.
  • Provide training and support to internal stakeholders.
  • Provide admin support to the BCIU team.
  • Co-ordination and participation in a range of project activities.
  • Monitoring project outcomes and produce reports.
  • Various office and administrative duties including: HR and Finance activities, maintenance of office equipment register, stores, stationary procurement and the establishment and maintenance of an efficient filing system. 
  • Determine priorities, meet strict timelines and effectively balance competing demands with minimal supervision, working independently or as a member of a team.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Project experience (including methodologies).
  • Well development research, analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Well-developed communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing office systems and implementing improvements to office efficiency
  • Excellent Customer service and be team player.
  • A proven record of ethical behaviour.
