Position Details

  • VPSG4 range $81,354 - $92,304 p.a. + super + leave loading
  • One (1) full time, fixed term (until 09/11/18) position available
  • Working within the Legal Project Delivery Team, Legal Services Department located at the Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders Street Docklands, 3008*


About the role:

The Project Officer role will manage and implement a number of projects and business initiatives, as part of a dedicated project team in a dynamic work environment within the Legal Services Department.

The Project Officer is required to develop and maintain positive working relationships with a cross-section of both internal and external stakeholders, to ensure project milestones are achieved on time.


Some of your duties will include:

  • Ensuring service delivery targets and key milestones are achieved in accordance with the approved Project Plan.
  • Maintain project goals in relation to governance, budget, scope, schedule, risks and issues, communication and stakeholders
  • Prepare reports, including analysis papers, briefing notes, project proposals, correspondence and submissions for a range of stakeholders, including Unit/Portfolio Managers and Senior Management.
  • Provide business application and secretariat support, as required.
  • Stakeholder management and building solid working relationships with key personnel


As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Proven project management skills
  • Proven ability to meet strict deadlines in an environment of limited supervision.
  • Ability to conduct research, develop project work and a capacity to effectively manage planning and reporting arrangements to meet specified timelines.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills


Requirements and relevant information:

  • Applicants with knowledge of user acceptance testing processes would be desirable.


*Your usual place of work will be within the Legal Operations, Commissions and Inquiries Division, Legal Services Department, however you may be required to work at any other division within the Department, as required.
