Position Details

  • VPSG-4 range $81,354 - $92,304 p.a. + super + leave loading pro rata
  • One (1) full time, ongoing position available
  • Working within the Covert Services Division, Intelligence and Covert Support Command located at the 313 Spencer Street, Docklands*

 

About the role:

As the successful applicant, you will be developing and delivering face-to-face online investigation/intelligence gathering courses which focus on the use of online media. The audience includes both Victoria Public Service and Sworn employees of mixed ranks. You will be required to actively assess students' competency and knowledge of the subject matter. You will be working as part of a small team and will be flexible in the role to assist meeting the unit objectives, in-particular contributing to keeping the course relevant to emerging trends. Some of the training will be conducted in rural locations requiring overnight accommodation and travel.  Whilst not engaged in the delivery of the training you will manage the training development portfolio.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Reporting of training development, delivery progress and feedback to the Unit 5 manager.
  • Delivery of advanced online searching and investigation planning/considerations modules of the course.
  • Manage the development portfolio which involves proactive stakeholder engagement to enhance course content.
  • Manage the content and drive uptake of an online learning module hosted on the Victoria Police intranet.
  • Conduct research of contemporary online media trends and their impact on Victoria Police.
  • Assist with the preparation of training materials including managing course logistics.
  • Provide advice to employees regarding online investigation techniques and policy.
  • Participate as part of the broader Unit 5 team in various projects.
  • Assist with the maintenance of IT equipment used for course training.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience in the development and/or delivery of training programs.
  • Experience collecting and disseminating intelligence (desired).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • High level stakeholder engagement and management skills.
  • A proven ability to work effectively in a small team environment.
  • Effective research and analytical skills.
  • An excellent understanding of online media and the use of technology for investigations (desired).

Requirements and relevant information:

  • Relevant degree or vocational qualification and experience in relevant teaching program would be highly desirable.
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or equivalent is highly desirable or qualify within 12 months.
  • For positions within Intelligence and Covert Support Command, the successful candidate must undergo and successfully obtain and maintain a National Security Clearance to the level determined by the Department Head. To obtain this clearance, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The incumbent will be required to complete the OHS requirements of the organisation, which may include local level training relating to equipment usage and Hazardous Chemicals.

*Your usual place of work will be within the Covert Services Division, Intelligence and Covert Support Command; however you may be required to work at any other division within the Command as required.
