Position Details

About the role:
As the successful applicant, you will be required to work in a secure environment with the provision of working with confidential information supporting covert operations. You will be required to support ongoing police operations through leading a small team of specialists providing niche services to Victoria Police. You will be required to contribute to a range of projects and oversee a range of administration procedures. From time to time, you will be required to attend stakeholders' premises in Melbourne to perform administrative tasks. You will also be a key person in the provision of advice to employees across Victoria Police in regards to the Crimes (Assumed Identities) Act 2004 and how employees can access the powers within the Act.

Your duties will include:

  • Daily management of a small team.
  • Providing guidance on Victorian Police policy and related legislation.
  • Engaging with a variety of stakeholders to obtain information.
  • Collecting information and data to support research for the broader team.
  • Working within a broader team in regards to management and training around assumed identities.
  • Providing administrative support to the Unit Manager.


As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience leading a team.
  • Experience leading projects.
  • A high level of communication and organisation skills.
  • Advanced customer service skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven high levels of ethical behaviour.
  • A proven ability to work cohesively in a small team.
  • An ability to understand and apply an act of law.

Other desirable skills include:

  • Experience working within a law enforcement or training environment.
  • Experience working with databases.


Requirements and relevant information:

  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.  To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
