  • VPSG-6 range $113,156 - $151,426 p.a. + super + leave loading
  • Full time, fixed term (until 30/06/2018) position
  • Working within the VEOHRC Project Unit, People Development Command
  • Department located at the Victoria Police Academy, Glen Waverley 3150*

About the role:

Following the release of the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission (VEOHRC) Review (December 2015) into sex discrimination, sexual harassment including predatory behaviour, People Development Command (PDC) has an integral role in delivering specific pieces of work relating to ‘informed and sustained leadership and governance' and ‘building capability and competency'.

The key focus of the Senior Education Advisor will be to provide innovative organisational change management advice to the PDC Senior Leadership team in relation to the findings of the VEOHRC Review. This role will be the subject matter expert providing advice on the areas of diversity and inclusion for example: gender equity and equality, power imbalance, bystander theory, sex discrimination and sexual harassment.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Advising on appropriate staff professional development methodologies to improve organisational capability in relation to matters of diversity and inclusion in the workplace;
  • Advising on training and development strategies to create a workplace culture in which all employees feel safe, included, valued, respected and able to reach their potential;
  • Leading, managing and developing educational change programs at an organisational level to address workplace harm;
  • Ensuring the PDC is able to achieve cultural change through implementation of several projects and ongoing initiatives in accordance to VEOHRC review;
  • Building effective relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ensuring current and emerging workplace issues and trends are integrated into Victoria Police training on a continual basis.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • A working knowledge of the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission (VEOHRC) Review;
  • Proven experience in establishing  and implementing a significant organisational change management project within a government department;
  • Demonstrated ability to advise on the areas of diversity and inclusion in the areas of gender equity and equality, power imbalance, bystander theory, leadership, victim-centric theory and risk management processes, sex discrimination and sexual harassment including predatory behaviour;
  • Researched, developed and implemented workforce engagement policies, strategies, and programs;
  • Designed and implemented quality evaluation systems, professional standards and training frameworks consistent with relevant legislation, standards and organisational policy;
  • Managed stakeholder relationships and issues to ensure positive outcomes;
  • A relevant tertiary qualification – for example: change management or gender studies.

*Your usual place of work will be within the VEOHRC Project Unit, People Development Command, however you may be required to work at any other division within the Command as required.
