Position Details

  • VPSG-4 range $79,955 - $90,716 p.a. + super + leave loading
  • One (1) full time, fixed term (until 25/06/18) position
  • Working within the Internal Audit Division, Strategic Investment, Reporting & Audit Department located at the Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders St, Docklands 3008*


About the role
As the successful applicant, you will be an integral part of the Internal Audit Unit Team.  Reporting to the Continuous Auditing Manager, you will undertake information management and systems-related continuous audits throughout Victoria Police, using Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATS) tools. Your role will also be pivotal in providing analytical support to internal and external agency compliance audits and contribute to the design and development of business improvement projects. 


Some of your duties will include:

  • Conduct continuous audits including, but not limited to, detailed testing of controls using sampling/confidence levels, analytical procedures and Computer Assisted Auditing Techniques (CAATs).
  • Communicate with auditees regularly to ensure timely communication of audit results. Follow-up to ensure corrective actions have been effectively implemented. Work with auditees to develop value added solutions
  • Prepare regular status reports to Senior Management and the Audit Committee
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of audit software (e.g. TeamMate, ACL) to ensure maximum efficiency and utilization.


As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Excellent knowledge of IT controls and auditing
  • Knowledge of Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATS) tools
  • Strong conceptual, research and analytical skills
  • Be a team player, flexible and innovative
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.


Requirements and relevant information

  • The incumbent will be required to complete the OHS requirements of the organisation, which may include local level training relating to equipment usage and Hazardous Chemicals.
  • Possess a current Victorian Driver Licence and hold or qualify for a White Class Driver Authority within three (3) months.


*Your usual place of work will be within the Internal Audit Division, Strategic Investment, Reporting & Audit Department, however you may be required to work at any other division within the Department as required.
