Position Details

About the role:
As the successful applicant, you will be an integral part of the Risk and Assurance Division.  Reporting to the Continuous Auditing Manager, you will perform financial and operational continuous audit programs. Continuous Auditing provides on-going assurance on the effectiveness of key controls, enabling more timely insight into risks and issues than traditional audits. Your role will also require you to contribute to the design and development of business improvement projects.

Your duties will include:

  • Independently plan, perform and report on financial and operational continuous audit programs.
  • Delivering audit findings and recommendations to stakeholders within agreed budgets and timeframes.
  • Establishing and maintaining productive and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Within a small team environment, adopt and maintain innovative thinking and develop a strong understanding of clients' needs to improve service delivery.
  • Participating in and, as appropriate, lead in the design and development of business improvement projects.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • At least 3 years of internal audit experience in business process control reviews
  • Understanding of Auditing Standards, legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working within small teams as well as the ability to prioritise competing work demands.
  • Preferably Certified Internal Auditor® (CIA) certification or equivalent.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.  To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen or a Permanent Resident.
