Position Details

  • VPSG6 range $113,156 - $151,426 p.a. + super + leave loading
  • One (1) full time, ongoing position
  • Working within the Health, Safety and Deployment Division, Human Resource Department located at the Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders Street, Docklands, Vic, 3008.*

About the role:

Victoria Police is committed to strengthening our leadership capability and providing a safer environment and improved wellbeing of our people by implementing the recommendations arising from recent independent reviews into mental health.

The key focus of the Manager, Mental Health Program is to drive the delivery and implementation of priority mental health programs across the organisation through engagement with senior stakeholders and effective leadership of the Mental Health Program Office to meet its strategic deliverables.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Lead, develop and coach a team to effectively implement priority mental health programs and deliver projects aligned to the Victoria Police Mental Health Strategy;
  • As a member of the Health, Safety and Deployment senior management team, participate in planning and decision making processes to shape strategy and drive outcomes
  • Provide strategic advice and authoritative expert knowledge in relation to issues of mental health in the workplace to optimise the delivery of services
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with senior stakeholders and relevant government, business and community services

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • High level of demonstrated experience leading a project management team delivering a program of works consistent with the strategic direction of the organisation;
  • Comprehensive knowledge and contemporary understanding of current and emerging mental health  issues,  trends and programs;
  • Confidential leadership skills with demonstrated, consistent sound judgement and ethical behaviour in making and influencing quality people decisions, recognising stakeholder needs and tailoring appropriate responses;
  • Demonstrated record of achievement at a senior level in development, implementation and management of strategic corporate initiatives;
  • Demonstrated experience in developing business plans, policies, program development documents and briefs on highly complex issues.

*Your usual place of work will be within the Health, Safety and Deployment Division, Human Resource Department, however you may be required to work at any other division within the Department / Command as required.
