  • VPSG-6 range $113,156 - $151,426 p.a. + super + leave loading
  • One (1) full time, fixed term (until 30 June 2019) position currently available
  • Working in the BlueConnect Program, Information, Systems and Security Command located at the Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders Street, Docklands, 3008*

About the role

The BlueConnect Program consists of a number of projects which will deliver technology and business change to Victoria Police.  The Program Manager is responsible for the operation of the Program Management Office which provides both Quality Assurance (QA) and support functions to all projects within BlueConnect.  This position will be on a fixed-term contract basis until 30 June 2019.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Quality Assurance for Contract Statements of Work and where directed for deliverables produced under the Statements of Work.
  • Accountability for ensuring all Victoria Police policy and processes are adhered to at all levels within the Program Management Office.
  • Effectively supervise, train and develop team members, so as to provide a high quality accurate and timely service to clients in a continuous improvement environment.
  • This includes accountability which may cover any or all of the following:
    • Budget Management
    • Schedule Control
    • Recruitment and HR
    • Reporting
    • Accommodation and Project Asset Management
    • Management of the Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) including quality assurance of all new Statements of Work under the SPA
    • Management and Maintenance of program process and standards documentation
    • Secretarial Support for Steering Committees and Project Boards

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated prior experience in the delivery of complex IT Projects including budget management and change management
  • Demonstrated prior experience in the operation of a PMO, preferably at the Program rather than project level
  • Demonstrated ability in the management of staff, including staff development activities
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports
  • A demonstrated ability to work under pressure


Requirements and relevant information:

  • A relevant tertiary degree or vocational qualification in the field of Information and Technology is highly desirable.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo and successfully obtain and maintain a National Security Clearance to the level determined by the Department Head. To obtain this clearance applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The incumbent will be required to complete the OHS requirements of the organisation, which may include local level training relating to equipment usage and Hazardous Chemicals.

*Your usual place of work will be within the BlueConnect Program, Information, Systems and Security Command, however you may be required to work at any other division within the Information, Systems and Security Command as required.
