The Family Violence Command provides a central focus within the organisation to drive the next wave of reform and improvement in policing family violence, sexual offences and child abuse. This is the first time in Australia that family violence has been given such a central focus within any police force.

Reporting to the Assistant Commissioner, Family Violence Command, the Director, Strategy, Policy and Reform provides leadership and direction in the provision of strategic reform, project management and delivery of initiatives in relation to Family Violence, Sexual Offences and Child Abuse.  The position is responsible for the leadership of a number of critical service delivery areas including: Strategy and Policy development, Community and Government Engagement, Family Violence projects, and the Royal Commission(s) responses. 

We are seeking an effective leader with a successful track record of formulating, leading and embedding positive strategies and change within large, complex organisations. It is expected that the incumbent will have a collaborative and responsive approach to building relationships and communicating with stakeholders and contribute effectively as a member of a senior leadership group.

In addition to supporting the Assistant Commissioner, Family Violence Command and the Victoria Police Executive in driving strategic initiatives at the state and national level, the position will work collaboratively with wider government and community sectors to drive strategic initiatives.
