Position Details

  • Working within the Logistical Support Division, Operational Infrastructure Department located at Collingwood, Melbourne*

About the role:

The LSD Commercial unit prepare negotiations plans, prepare agreements and manages contractual obligations, monitor supply risk with contractors, financial risk and commercial supply chain matters including relationships (negotiation and dispute resolution) with external suppliers often in conjunction with the Legal Services Division. The Procurement / Contract Practitioner will ensure the continuity of services within LSD work units and enhance external supplier relationships.

Some of your duties will include:

• Deliver, manage and monitor non-complex procurements and contract management process to ensure adherence to policy, compliance and a demonstrated value for money outcomes are achieved.
• Maintain and communicate category management knowledge in a procurement and contract management environment.
• Facilitate and contribute to procurement and contract management initiatives in Victoria Police and contribute to complex projects with procurement and contract management implications
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders to assist in the effective delivery of all procurements and contract management activities across the category

As the successful applicant, you will have:

• Demonstrated knowledge of procurement practises and contract management principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience in the management of multiple commercial relationships in complex environments.
• Well-developed analytical and conceptual skills.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and review contract information and commercial data, identifying trends and effectively communicating themes and issues to senior management.
• A proven record of ethical behaviour and a demonstrated commitment to the Victoria Police Code of ethics and Conduct, Financial Code of Practice, and the Organisational values.

*Your usual place of work will be within the Logistical Support Division, Operational Infrastructure Department, however you may be required to work at any other division within the Department as required.
