  • One (1) full time, fixed term position available (until 30/06/18 with possible extension)
  • Working within the HR Services Division, Human Resource Department located at the Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders St, Docklands 3008*


About the role:

HR Services provides quality and timely payroll services to over 19,000 Victoria Police employees and manages the organisation's HRMS. In response to organisational growth and change, HR Services are establishing a dedicated project team to implement priority HR system enhancements over the next 12 months.

Experience in large business change initiatives is highly regarded. A high level of business acumen, strong problem solving skills, and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders is critical to the success of the role.

This is a genuine opportunity for someone who is keen to take a hands-on approach to achieve and help drive the business forward.  In return, this person will benefit from working collaboratively with senior stakeholders and contribute to Victoria Police's service to community.

 

Some of your duties will include:

HR Services are looking for a motivated, engaging and results driven Senior Project Officer.

Reporting to the project team leader, your duties will include:

  • Managing policy and process reform, including a strong focus on reviewing and writing policy and guidelines.
  • Conducting strategic projects including the analysis and strategic assessment of issues using appropriate research techniques and methods.
  • Preparing high quality and comprehensive briefs, written reports and correspondence articulating trends, opportunities and risk associated with a planned course of action.
  • Providing timely, authoritative and specialist advice and solutions using a range of communication media to stakeholders on governance and strategic issues related to proposal, project/program and portfolio  management.
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with relevant stakeholders, and negotiating with internal and external potential sources of information.


As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience in interpreting legislation, enterprise agreements and organisational policy.
  • Demonstrated and well-developed written and oral communication skills with the proven ability to establish and sustain effective working relationships.
  • Proven ability to monitor client and stakeholder satisfaction, and constructively manage stakeholder issues to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Experience working in a complex public sector environment would be highly regarded.

 

Requirements and relevant information:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification is highly desirable.

*Your usual place of work will be within the HR Services Division, Human Resource Department, however you may be required to work at any other division within the Department as required.
