  • VPSG-2 range $49,216 - $63,201 p.a. + super + leave loading
  • One (1) full time, fixed term (until 30/06/2021) position available
  • Working within the Health, Safety and Deployment Division, Human Resource Department located at the Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders Street, Docklands 3008*


About the role:

As part of Victoria's Community Safety Statement 2017 Applicant Attraction Team are required to attract suitable applicants for the recruitment of 2729 extra police and 100 extra protective services officers over four years from 2017 to 2021.

As part of this initiative an opportunity exists for an Administrative Support Officer to join the Applicant Attraction and Project Team, Victoria Police.

The Applicant Attraction and Project team is a vital component of the organisation focused on the attraction of prospective applicants for Police, Protective Services Officer, Police Custody Officer and Victorian Public Service roles within Victoria Police.  The team provides assistance and advice to prospective applicants on the positions available within Victoria Police and educates them on the recruitment process.

As an energetic customer service team member, you will be responsible for answering all the incoming and outgoing phone calls and emails of prospective applicants across all application streams.


Some of your duties will include:

  • Providing information and correspondence to applicants outlining the recruitment process
  • Attending to telephone enquiries from Victoria Police employees and members of the public to address recruitment queries in a polite and considerable manner
  • Participating in recruitment information sessions, career expos and other recruitment activities
  • Maintaining recruitment systems and databases
  • Administrative duties including purchase orders/invoices, stationary and merchandise requests



As the successful applicant you will have:

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated office support experience with the ability to perform and coordinate administrative and customer service tasks
  • High levels of initiative and self-discipline to succeed in this busy role, demonstrating  flexibility and adaptability to meet changing work requirements
  • The ability to work within a team environment to achieve deadlines



Requirements and relevant information:

  • The incumbent will be required to complete the OHS requirements of the organisation, which may include local level training relating to equipment usage and Hazardous Chemicals.

*Your usual place of work will be within the Health, Safety and Deployment Division, Human Resource Department; however you may be required to work at any other division within the Department as required.
