About the role

As part of Victoria's Community Safety Statement 2017 Applicant Attraction Team are required to attract suitable applicants for the recruitment of 2729 extra police and 100 extra protective services officers over four years from 2017 to 2021.

As part of this initiative an opportunity exists for a Project Administrator to join the Applicant Attraction and Project Team, Victoria Police.

The Applicant Attraction and Project team is a vital component of the organisation focused on the attraction of prospective applicants for Police, Protective Services Officer, Police Custody Officer and Victorian Public Service roles within Victoria Police.  The team provides assistance and advice to prospective applicants on the positions available within Victoria Police and educates them on the recruitment process.

The team provides assistance and advice to educate and inform both internal and external stakeholders on the recruitment process.

We are looking for an education professional to travel to the Victorian regions to upskill and train current police members on the recruitment process through information and training sessions. You will also be responsible for educating and providing advice to applicants throughout each stage of the process.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Delivering training and providing advice to current employees in the area of recruitment and employment
  • Managing and participating in recruitment information sessions, career expos and other recruitment activities
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and  potential applicants; providing advice surrounding the recruitment process and any other related queries

As the successful applicant you will have:

  • Proven ability to communicate professionally and succinctly to a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Possess highly developed communication and presentation skills that can be adapted to suit the audience and situation
  • The ability to work on a number of recruitment projects concurrently, including information sessions and presentations
  • Strong work ethic
  • Be flexible, a team player with great organisational skills


Requirements and relevant information:

  • The incumbent will be required to complete the OHS requirements of the organisation, which may include local level training relating to equipment usage and Hazardous Chemicals.

*Your usual place of work will be within the Health, Safety and Deployment Division, Human Resource Department; however you may be required to work at any other division within the Department as required.
