Position Details

  • One (1) Full-time ongoing position available
  • Working within the Record Services Division, Public Support Service Department located at the Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders Street, Docklands*


About the role:

As a Senior Information Officer, you will lead a team of Information Officer's in the accurate and timely processing of records for use by Victoria Police. 


Some of your duties will include:

  • Supervising a shift of Information Officer's in the processing of information relevant to the unit
  • Leading the performance of team members and providing constructive feedback
  • Coaching and mentoring team members to develop staff
  • Ensuring timely and accurate delivery of information services
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and providing a high level of customer service
  • Participating in the development of workgroup polices, processes and systems


As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated ability to monitor and contribute to multi-discipline information management initiatives and service delivery outcomes operating in a cooperative, flexible, responsive and professional manner
  • Proven ability to effectively lead, manage and develop staff within a team environment including the ability to build team cohesion, accountability, continuous improvement of standards and client responsiveness
  • Demonstrated experience to interpret and apply knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures, in a best practice environment
  • Well-developed analytical and conceptual competencies including the ability to interrogate data, review a variety of information and identify trends and provide advice and produce management reports
  • Proven ability to undertake work flow analysis and remediation, innovative thinking and a demonstrated commitment to continual improvement and achieving quality outcomes
  • Well-developed communication skills (written and oral) and highly developed interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively liaise with staff at all levels including senior members of the organisation, external agencies and customers. 


Requirements and relevant information:

The incumbent will be required to work Rostered Hours, Shift work, some Public Holidays and Weekends. Shift allowances will be paid in accordance with the relevant Victorian Public Service Agreement

*Your usual place of work will be within the Record Services Division, Public Support Service Department, however you may be required to work at any other division within the Public Support Service Department as required.
