Position Details


  • VPSG-3 range $64,583 - $78,418 p.a. + super + leave loading
  • Six (6) full time, fixed term (until 31/12/2018) positions available
  • As an employee within Victoria Police's Family Violence Command, the successful applicant(s) will be primarily based out of Family Safety Victoria's Office located at 35 Collins Street, Melbourne, 3000*
  • The successful applicants may be required to work rostered hours, shift work, some public holidays and weekends. Shift allowances will be paid in accordance with the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2016.

*While this position will have a nominated usual place of work, being Family Violence Command/Family Safety Victoria, the position may be required to work at other locations, in accordance with the provisions of the relevant Victorian Public Service Agreement.

About the role

Family Safety Victoria has been created to drive and deliver the Government's action to end family violence. The establishment of the Central Information Point (CIP) is a key reform coming out of the Royal Commission into Family Violence, with a clear objective to better serve the needs of victims.

The CIP will be co-located with employees from Victoria Police, Corrections Victoria, the Magistrates' Court of Victoria and the Department of Health and Human Services. An exciting new opportunity exists to join the transformational response underway for victims of family violence in Victoria.

The CIP Data Officer will work in a multi-disciplinary team co-located in the CIP Operations unit, Family Safety Victoria. Upon request, the CIP Data Officer will access relevant Victoria Police databases to assess and collate a summary of relevant family violence information. This data will contribute to a report which will assist in forming a comprehensive family violence risk assessment to keep victims safe.

We are looking to fill multiple roles with individuals who have experience of Victoria Police's procedures and an operational knowledge of its databases. The role will contribute to creating evidence based and informed risk assessments to keep victims safe.

The ideal candidates will possess the ability to work in a new context, within a multi-disciplinary team and have a well-developed ability to understand and apply data to support an operational environment.

The preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Record Check and may be subject to additional security checks that are required by other Government Departments participating in the CIP.
