Business Analyst

The Business Analyst is responsible for managing the financial reporting and analysis requirements for the Region. You will work largely autonomously within a small team and be expected to take a lead role in ensuring the financial reporting and analysis needs of the Region are met. You will be able to think strategically to find solutions to financial related issues and be able to fully manage the implementation of these solutions.

Position Details

Some of your duties will include:

Reporting to the Manager, Business Analyst, you will manage and coordinate all financial  requirements of the Region.

Your key stakeholders will include but are not limited to:

  • Assistant Commissioner, Southern Metro Region
  • Divisional Superintendents
  • Local Area Commanders
  • Station Commanders
  • Victoria Police, Corporate Finance Department

Your core duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of reports that analyze and assess issues and provide recommendations that improve the business, policies and procedures
  • Supervising, training and motivating staff and working successfully within a team environment.
  • Liaising and developing good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

 As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • An excellent technical understanding of Oracle system including but not limited to reporting functions.
  • Experience in analyst activities including forecasting, monitoring and trend assessments within a Regional environment.
  • The ability to work autonomously to not only find solutions to issues but also implement them.
  • High level communication skills, with the ability to deal comfortably with all levels of clients and stakeholders from Police Constables to Assistant Commissioners
