Position Details

  • VPSG-6 range $115,136 - $154,076 p.a. + super + leave loading
  • One (1) full time, fixed term (until 30/06/2020) position available
  • Working within the Property Division, Operational Infrastructure Department located at the Victoria Police Centre, Docklands 3008*


About the role:

The successful applicant will be responsible for undertaking the Program Manager role for the new Specialist Training Facility. In addition, the role is intended to provide governance and oversight to delivery activities:

  • Ensuring that a robust and effective project management system and project risk management processes are in place
  • Oversee the approval of payments and contract execution in accordance with governance requirements, whilst monitoring financial position of projects and programs
  • Ensuring projects and programs are delivered efficiently and governance is maintained
  • Provide expert leadership in project and program management
  • Manage the Communications Plan for delivery of the project



Skills and experience:

As the successful applicant you will have:

  • Proven project management and experience in the delivery of specific capital projects and programs
  • Ability to conduct research, develop project work and manage planning and reporting arrangements, within both a property and built environment market
  • Expertise in the PDCMA – Project Development and Construction Management Act
  • Knowledge of relevant government legislation, regulation and reporting directives and procedures
  • Highly developed conceptual, analytical, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Highly developed skills in process mapping and developing frameworks around governance and a strong focus on people and process improvement
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing collaboration and relationship building skills



Requirements and relevant information:                                                                                            

  • A relevant tertiary qualification would be highly desirable
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo and successfully obtain and maintain a National Security Clearance to the level determined by the Department Head. To obtain this clearance applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The incumbent will be required to complete the OHS requirements of the organisation, which may include local level training relating to equipment usage and Hazardous Chemicals

*Your usual place of work will be within the Property Division, Operational Infrastructure Department, however you may be required to work at any other division within the Operational Infrastructure Department as required.
