Position Details

  • VPSG3 range $65,713 - $79,790 p.a. + super + leave loading
  • One (1) Full time, fixed term (up until 21/01/2019) position available
  • Working within the People Development Command, Business Services Division located at the Victoria Police Academy, View Mount Road, Glen Waverley.*

About the role:

This position forms part of the Business Support Services Unit at the Victoria Police Academy.  The successful applicant will assist the unit to deliver high quality business services across a broad range of HR vacancy and establishment management functions and administrative duties while promoting service excellence.

Some of your duties will include:
This position reports directly to the Manager - Business Support Services and will be required to provide HR service to a broad range of stakeholder's across People Development Command.  Duties will include:

  • Oversee PDC's establishment, including co-ordination of approval to hire processes
  • Use of HR system (SAP) to facilitate position establishment and creation, along with abolishment & amending of positions.
  • Generation of reports on request from a wide range of stakeholders from HR system
  • Administrative support functions including preparation of routine correspondence, minuting of meetings and ability undertake basic research activities.
  • Oral and written communication with key stakeholders, including preparation of comprehensive reports to inform senior members on the status of vacancy and establishment management issues and processes.
  • Development of HR reporting frameworks to meet the HR and Establishment service delivery needs of PDC
  • Dissemination and storage management of confidential and other office records and information systems

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Knowledge and experience in the use of HR systems (SAP or similar) specifically aspects of payroll and position establishment, as well as the capacity to generate a range of reports
  • Appropriate experience in a range of administrative support functions
  • Ability to prepare routine correspondence and reports, take minutes of meetings and undertake basic research activities.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal competently with, and provide guidance as necessary to a range of personnel
  • Appropriate keyboard skills including the ability to perform the more complex word-processing tasks and produce statistical reports
  • Good organising skills specifically, the ability to set priorities in a dynamic environment and ability to contribute in a team environment
  • Experience in the dissemination and storage management of confidential and other office records and information systems


Requirements and relevant information:

Your usual place of work will be within People Development Command - Business Services Division, however you may be required to work at any Division within the People Development Command as required.
