  • Initially working within the BlueConnect Program, Information, Systems and Security Command located at the Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders Street, Docklands, 3008*

About the role:

BlueConnect is a significant business transformation program which includes modernising technology and systems for Victoria Police to better serve our communities. The BlueConnect Mobile Technology Project will deliver over 8500 mobile devices and a range of operational applications to frontline police members, thereby establishing an essential mobile capability which can continue to be developed into the future.

The role forms a key part of the new Mobile Capability Business Support team. This team will provide business support functions for the Mobility Managed Service and will work closely with technology service providers and other stakeholders to deliver a high-quality mobile capability platform.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Mobile technology device and applications end-user support
  • Subject matter expertise in the application of the mobile technology service
  • Monitoring and reporting on utilisation of the mobility solution
  • Supplying  regular and ad-hoc requests for a range of information and reports, including benefits monitoring
  • Co-ordination of change requests
  • Supporting the planning and deployment of mobility solution upgrades and enhancements
  • Providing input and expertise to various mobility-related projects
  • Supporting change management within a highly complex environment
  • Technical change management co-ordination and testing support
  • Working closely with police members, the Mobility Service Provider, the IT Service Delivery team, and a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Establishing and maintaining quality processes and practices for mobile capability support
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and capability development

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • An appreciation of the operational policing environment in Victoria
  • A good understanding of technology-based service delivery frameworks and methodologies
  • The ability to develop and implement high-quality service support processes
  • Experience in working with technology Service Providers in supporting a large customer base
  • Experience with complex information systems, including analysing data sets and producing relevant reports
  • Experience with mobile technologies
  • A demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement
  • Excellent customer service skills and stakeholder communications skills

Requirements and relevant information:

  • A qualification, such as a degree or advanced certificate, in a directly relevant area will be highly regarded
  • The successful candidate may be required to undergo and successfully obtain and maintain a National Security Clearance to the level determined by the Department Head. To obtain this clearance applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The incumbent will be required to complete the OHS requirements of the organisation, which may include local level training relating to equipment usage and Hazardous Chemicals.

*Your usual place of work will initially be within the BlueConnect Program, Information, Systems and Security Command, however you may be required to work at any other division within the , Information, Systems and Security Command as required.
