Position Details

  • VPSG-3 range $65,713 - $79,790 p.a. + super + leave loading
  • Two (2) Full time, fixed term (until 31/12/2019) positions available
  • Working within the Licensing and Regulation Division, Public Support Services Department (PSSD) located at Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders Street, Docklands 3008.


About the role:
The Electronic Lodgement Process project is about providing Victoria Police with a strategic platform to enable an eForm channel (of both external and internal forms) for Licensing and Regulation Division, the broader PSSD and other areas of Victoria Police. The project reviews and simplifies application and renewal processes and forms of Firearms and Private Security licensing and registration functions. The overall aim is to automate high volume paper based forms/applications and make them accessible to the public via the internet. This is a transformation project with the clear objectives of saving time and costs on the Victoria Police side, and increasing convenience and service satisfaction on the publics' side. If you have technical aptitude or policy analysis skills; or both, these positions may offer you valuable experience in a small high achieving team work making a real difference.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Manage the design, development and coordination of licensing and registration forms in electronic and hard copy formats
  • Initiate and identify process improvements.
  • Assist in achieving customer driven service delivery outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development of training and guidance materials for customer service officers and customers.


As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Victoria Police data management policies, standards and relevant legislation is desirable
  • Proven experience in the use of design software.
  • A thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and its advanced functions.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to prepare relevant briefing papers, reports and correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess client needs and produce accurate and complex documentation.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • An understanding of the customer service requirements of the position and a demonstrated record of strong commitment and achievement in meeting customer needs.

*Your usual place of work will be within the Licensing and Regulation Division, Public Support Services Department; however you may be required to work at any other division within the Department as required.
