Position Details

The Road Policing Enforcement Division (RPED) sits within Road Policing Command, Victoria Police. It plays an important part in long-term deterrence of dangerous road user behaviour through speed and red-light offence detections, resulting in infringements. As an enforcement agency, Victoria Police also assesses and responds to requests for internal review and court requests of infringements, along with other associated enquiries. RPED is responsible for this function and engages with internal and external stakeholders with respect to all aspects of the fines enforcement process.

Consisting of both VPS and Sworn staff members; RPED issues and enforces all Road Safety Camera and Tolling infringements. RPED is also responsible for enforcing member issued infringements which requires strong engagement with road safety partners and contracted service providers which maintain the traffic camera network. As a Senior Administration Support Officer, you will be involved in multiple elements of the fines enforcement process which works to reduce road trauma and increase road safety.

Your duties will include:

  • Investigate complex enquiries submitted by members of the public in relation to infringements and nominations;
  • Provide high level advice to senior managers and internal/external stakeholders aligned to our current policies and legislation;
  • Evaluate requests for review and make appropriate decisions as guided by policy, legislation and the public interest;
  • Produce high level data reports to senior managers indicative to matters relating to enforcement of infringements as required by management;
  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of current regulatory trends and relevant infringement enforcement practices;
  • Other duties as required.

  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to negotiate and articulate with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to use your initiative to succeed in this role, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet changing work requirements;
  • The ability to work within a team environment or autonomously;
  • Strong computer skills.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • Multiple VPS3 Ongoing and Fixed Term positions available (Fixed Term positions are funded until 30 June 2023)
  • These positions are located at Road Policing Enforcement Division, 277 William Street, Melbourne, however you may be required to work at any other location within Victoria Police as required.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
