About the role

The Digital Production Manager will report into the Senior Communications Manager - Proactive Media.

Managing one person and a part-time journalist, the Digital Production Manager will be responsible for producing news-based digital content for Victoria Police's social media channels. This includes but is not limited to short videos, micro-documentaries and podcasts.

Working with the wider media team, you will identify opportunities to promote the work of Victoria Police and provide public reassurance on new and emerging issues.

The successful applicant will have a proven track record in producing same day digital assets, working in an issues-rich environment, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Managing one full time digital production employee and a part-time journalist
  • Working with the wider media team to develop story ideas
  • Managing all aspects of digital production, including setting up interview times, filming and editing
  • Working on a wide range of short and mid-term projects
  • Monitoring new and emerging opportunities to engage with new audiences
  • Ensuring digital assets are produced on time and of a high quality

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Extensive experience in digital production
  • Advanced production skills, including filming and editing
  • Ability to produce content within short timeframes and on time
  • Proven experience in managing and providing strategic direction to a digital production team
  • Excellent stakeholder relationship skills and ability to find story opportunities
  • Demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluating projects

Requirements and relevant information:

  • The successful candidate may be required to undergo and successfully obtain and maintain a National Security Clearance to the level determined by the Department Head. To obtain this clearance applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, journalism or related field would be highly regarded.
  • The position may require travel intrastate and interstate.

*Your usual place of work will be within the Media Branch, Media and Corporate Communications Department; however you may be required to work at any other division within the Media and Corporate Communications Department as required.
