Position Details

About the role:

The Unit Manager – Protective Security Training and Awareness, is responsible for the development, management and evaluation of protective security education and training programs for Victoria Police.

Your duties will include:

Reporting to the Manager Strategy and Planning within Protective Security, some of your key responsibilities will be:

  • Managing the day to day program of work and activities of the work unit
  • Completion of an education and training needs analysis to identify the effectiveness of information management, and protective security education and training being delivered across the organisation;
  • Development, management and delivery of an education and training “Road Map” program that increases information management, cyber security, protective security awareness' and compliance;
  • Development of an Organisational Change Management (OCM) and ongoing communication program of activities for cyber and protective security;
  • Development of cyber security and protective security metrics and conduct cyber/protective security maturity assessments.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in completion of education and training needs analysis;
  • Experience in developing, implementing and evaluation of education and training programs within  information security or a similar program;
  • A relevant degree of vocational qualification and experience in a relevant education or teaching program;
  • Certificate IV in training and assessment (of equivalent);
  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience in analysis and design of education and training programs.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.  To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The incumbent will be required to complete the OHS requirements of the organisation, which may include local level training relating to equipment usage and Hazardous Chemicals.
